Why NCFM: I love the culture and teamwork at NCFM. We’re always there for each other, and as an unopposed residency, we have a high patient volume and help those in the community that need it most.

Medical School: University of Nebraska
Favorite things to do in Colorado: Spend time with friends, enjoy the sunny weather, and find new places to eat!
Why NCFM: I felt NCFM had so many great opportunities to help develop me into the FM doctor I want to be. I knew coming here would prepare me for a practice in any setting and I loved that it is a FMOB fellowship equivalent for obstetric care.
Where I see myself after residency: My ideal practice would be being a full scope family doc that practices OB and to have a panel of patients of all ages! I am open to working in rural or an urban setting.
Core Program
Hometown: Parachute, CO
Undergrad: Wheaton College (History)
Medical School: University of Colorado
Favorite things to do in Colorado: Hike 14ers (16 and counting!), ski, car camp, fish.
Why NCFM: Being at CU's rural program for med school I had heard so much about the excellent training at NCFM for full scope FM. Greeley offers the volume and patient complexity that I thought would best prepare me for any number of different career options due to the diverse population, lack of competing residencies, and experienced faculty in rural/international medicine.
Where I see myself after residency: Not sure yet! Interested in everything from full-scope rural practice including C Sections to hospitalist med to an addiction medicine fellowship.
Sunrise Program
Hometown: Toquerville, UT
Undergrad: (Spanish, Chemistry)
Medical School: Rocky Vista University, Utah
Favorite things to do in Colorado: Hiking, camping, biking, hanging out with family and at all the community events, sports.
Why NCFM: One of the few programs that really provided me all the resources I need to become the doctor I want to become. It allows me to decide what skills I want to develop rather than being restricted by the program due to limited resources. Plus, the overall environment is very welcoming from the first time I learned about the program and has continued to be since.
Where I see myself after residency: Interested in global medicine, reproductive health/advance maternal care, immigrant/refugee care, infectious diseases. Simply just want to be a true full spectrum doctor to an underserved population.

The Wray RTT will also give me the opportunity to train in a community much like the one I hope to practice in someday, to learn to best serve my future rural patients!

Why NCFM: There is so much training potential here: OB, scopes, inpatient, rural FM... The patient population is diverse. The faculty is passionate about teaching. My seniors and co-interns are wonderfully supportive. I can find a scenic running trail within 30 minutes of driving in any direction. I feel fulfilled after each day of work and get 7h of sleep daily. What more can an intern ask for?
